Agave syrup is extracted from a cactus of Mexico and is known for its very high content of fructose. Its properties are acclaimed by some scientists as part of preventive anti-cancer diets and more.
The benefits? A high sweetening power with a low glycemic index (does not cause blood sugar spike). Vegans use as a substitute for honey.
- 100g of sugar = 400 kcal
- 100g agave syrup = 352 kcal
The taste is neutral so useful for preparing a beverage effort.
I also use it for my sweet yogurt, hot drinks, cottage cheese ...
We find agave syrup in any health food shops in your area or online (link here )
Be careful though not to abuse it> it's still a product high in sugar!
