The organizers had announced the presence of Kilian Jornet ... there were treated to one of the Friend Ricoré, it's not a bad star: ahaha:
Nice little summary of my trip Sunday in the Alpes de Haute Provence:
5:30 to start up the car at 6 am with my father who took advantage of my trip to visit my uncle in Barcelonnette.
The thermometer in a pharmacy Mure says - 11 ° c!
It's cool but that does not prevent six gendarmes to stop and breath test: No prob. "Proud as a bar / Tobacco" I blow into the balloon that shows ... nothing since it does not work?! Too cold in the end ... it does nothing. I can assure you I do not turn white wine at dawn, it will take several hours to drink my first drop (the glass of mulled wine on arrival).
I arrive on the scene at 9:30 after asking my father as planned. The sun rises it is around -5 ° C with the sun but we have not seen for some time in Isère ... it feels good!
-
I get my number with a buff "Ubaye valley" as a gift and a t-shirt Technical => all for € 15! Hat the organization.
I always warm up a bit in the sun and towards the start line in the percussion group of drums, it's party time!
-
We start at 11am with an ideal temperature:
The first mile turn fast enough but I keep a lot under the foot (see the end too because the race is not only 17km long). We run on a track background for many 4km. My Garmin m'affiche an average speed of 5'12 at km.
Support is good there is of the bump but I double an incredible amount of riders are again left in the last ...
-
We come then to the foot of the hill that will take us to Fouillouse highlight of the race.
-
The climb is steep thighs calm and well groomed at all over but nothing to do with the NB Trail Blanc de Serre-Chevalier, the cold has had its effect snow and ice can pose a good walk nonetheless.
-
I wear the Salomon Speedcross notched two well so no Yaktrax. Support is good I place in the hard parts.
I have good legs but keep a lot under the foot for the rest of the course.
Finally the parade km around a beautiful scenery and I realize by attacking the descent there are only 3 or 4 kilometers before the finish!
-
I decided to rush headlong into the descent I put some in the red before the arrival there is not come here for nothing anyway! A few bowls later and a bloody nose, I get to the line and I was told on the 33rd about 132 arrivals 1h35'59. The results here .
I am fully satisfied even if I just let go at the start.
I meet Hervé Giraud Savior who finished sixth kudos to you! We discuss some of its bed (quite nice, link here ) appointment if we have a holiday in Méribel Centre for a few nights by the fire before the end of 2010.
I also speak with Sebastien Chagneau the recent second of the UTMB tells me that he arrived in Chamonix last summer ... it is somewhat impressive. His wife manages the company Mouss production and a film about the race of the day which is taken from this report:
-
Here, mulled wine and go home after a few hours drive avé always the sun.
I go take care of my family: the Valentine's Day! I never fail to wish my little woman (thank you Vinvin20) and forget the flowers ...
Meanwhile, Marty tried my flask Raidlight I forgot this morning ...

Hey Ben, you were afraid of being late to give them their friend for breakfast? 33rd puree because it starts telling me! Coup: Luch:
Well if not, it's nice to see pretty pictures with the sun ... because the snow is very pretty but in the fog and gloom for months, it starts to swell
strong spring that can run in shorts! : Ahaha:
Mickaël hello!
I finished 35th! In looking at the results that I remembered that you are more or less kikourou, and now I find your story, great!
